One of the biggest gacha RPG games of the last few years is finally making its way West. Final Blade — an oriental-styled fantasy developed by South Korean studio SkyPeople — has been confirmed for a global launch on the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store.
Final Blade: Guan Sword The Shivering Dawn, to give it its full, rather cumbersome title, is a gacha RPG with a massive following and player base in South Korea and Taiwan, according to the folks over at DroidGamers.
As with other gacha-style games, Final Blade sees you gathering an army of characters through random loot drops, all with different skills and rarities.
Heroes can then be levelled up and evolved and taken into battle in real-time encounters.
In addition to a main story campaign where you can explore each hero’s back story, Final Blade also features online battles against other players and a clan system which lets you take on massive bosses and topple rival clans.
If that wasn’t enough, the Endless Tower and Black Money modes offer endless challenges with rewards of gold and gear.
You can see six of the character profiles on the Final Blade homepage, but SkyPeople promises over 300 characters in total. The site, trailer and promotional art also show off the game’s gorgeous 2D art design.
You can pre-register to play Final Blade on the same page. Those who do pre-register are guaranteed a 5 star hero ticket when the game finally launches. There are also additional reward stretch goals based on the total number of pre-registrations.
