Huawei P30 Lite officially announced: Kirin 710, triple rear cameras, 32MP selfie camera

The Huawei P30 Lite.

We’ve already seen retailer pages and official website listings, but Huawei has finally decided to formally announce the P30 Lite.

The company has issued a press release confirming the device’s existence and details. And true to the previous listings, you’ve got a phone with a mid-range Kirin 710 chipset, 4GB or 6GB of RAM, 128GB of expandable storage, and a 6.15-inch full HD+ (2,321 x 1,080) waterdrop display.

The Huawei P30 Lite also stands out thanks to a triple rear camera setup. This trio is made up of a 24MP f/1.8 main camera, an 8MP f/2.4 ultra-wide snapper (120 degree field of view), and a 2MP depth sensor. Switch to the front and you’re looking at a 32MP sensor, lining up with its more expensive stablemates.

Huawei’s budget phone also offers a 3,340mAh battery with 18 watt charging, USB-C connectivity, a rear fingerprint scanner, and GPU Turbo 2.o support.

Editor’s Pick

The company hasn’t revealed European pricing for the device just yet, but the 4GB+128GB P30 Lite is currently listed at 5,127 Rand (~$369) on the official South African store. This is more or less in line with local pricing for the P20 Lite, so you can reasonably expect global pricing to be similar to last year’s model. We’ve contacted Huawei for European pricing and will update the article accordingly. The device will be available in white, Peacock Blue and Midnight Black.
