Samsung Galaxy S10 5G tipped to hit Verizon on May 16

Samsung Galaxy S10 5G

Verizon has just flicked the switch on its 5G service, offering connectivity in two cities and the 5G Moto Mod. But what if you want a flagship super-phone with integrated connectivity?

Well, serial tipster Evan Blass has tweeted that the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G will be making its U.S. debut on May 16. So consumers will be in for a bit of a wait if they want a no-compromise 5G experience.

There’s no word on a U.S. price just yet, but the phone will go on sale in Korea tomorrow (April 5) at a starting price of 1.39 million won (~$1,224). Samsung’s device will be available in Crown Silver, Majestic Black, and Royal Gold.

There’s more to the phone than faster connectivity though, as it boasts a number of improvements over the Galaxy S10 Plus. These upgrades include a 4,500mAh battery, 25 watt fast charging, a larger display, and two 3D ToF cameras (one on each side).

This isn’t the only 5G phone expected in the coming months, as devices from Huawei, LG, OnePlus, Xiaomi, and ZTE are also due for a release. Xiaomi’s phone in particular, the Mi Mix 3 5G, is coming in at an aggressive 599 euro price point. So competition is quickly heating up in the industry after years of teasing the technology.
