Alleged official renders of Google Pixel 3a lineup are here, look as expected

Alleged official renders of the Google Pixel 3 a and Google Pixel 3a XL. Android Headlines

Although we’ve seen protoypes and CAD-based renders of the Google Pixel 3a and 3a XL, we’ve yet to see anything official. Over at Android Headlines, though, the site appears to have grabbed a single image of official renders for the two upcoming devices, which you can see above.

It’s hard to tell, but the Google Pixel 3a is on the left and the 3a XL is on the right. The phones look nearly identical in the renders, but if you look closely you can see that the Pixel 3a is slightly thinner than the 3a XL.

It’s likely that the 3a XL is also a bit taller than the vanilla 3a, but the phones are sized the same in these side-by-side renders. It’s possible the 3a XL image is shrunk a bit for effect — we’re not quite sure.

Editor’s Pick

Either way, these alleged official renders line up nicely with everything we’ve seen so far regarding the Pixel 3a lineup. The headphone jack makes a return at the top of the devices, there’s no notch on the Pixel 3a XL, and each device gets a single selfie camera on the front. The devices also appear to be running Android 9 Pie, which was pretty much a given.

We expect to see the Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL launch during Google I/O 2019, likely on May 7. The devices will probably be cheaper than the premium Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL devices due to cheaper build materials, but will likely feature the same rear camera systems.

We also expect the Pixel 3a to launch on T-Mobile as well as Verizon. This will be the first time a Pixel device has launched on a non-Verizon carrier since the debut of the original Google Pixel.
