Fortunately, people who want to grab the device sooner can do so a variety of ways — assuming you want what is expected to be the T-Mobile carrier variant of the phone.
As with last year’s OnePlus 6T, T-Mobile is going to be the exclusive U.S. carrier of the OnePlus 7 Pro. To celebrate this exclusivity, T-Mobile will have a pop-up shop at its flagship store in Manhattan where fans can literally be the first people in the world to buy the device, just like it did for the 6T (and which Android Authority attended).
The next day on May 15, several other T-Mobile stores across the U.S. will start selling the 7 Pro. Finally, on May 17, the device will be available in all T-Mobile stores, from T-Mobile.com, and unlocked directly from OnePlus.
At all T-Mobile events, the first 200 people to buy the 7 Pro get a free gift from OnePlus. There will also be free light refreshments.
Here’s the full schedule and locations:
- May 14 – OnePlus launch event starts at 11:00 AM ET at Pier 94 in New York City.
- May 14 – T-Mobile’s Times Square Signature Store launch event open from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM ET where OnePlus 7 Pro will be available to buy.
- May 15 – Signature Store launch events continue in Chicago, San Francisco, Santa Monica, Las Vegas, and Miami, all starting at 2:00 PM local time.
- May 17 – OnePlus 7 Pro is available in any T-Mobile store, online at t-mobile.com, and online at OnePlus.com.
Interestingly, the T-Mobile press release on the matter makes no mention of the OnePlus 7. Is it possible that T-Mobile is only going to carry the OnePlus 7 Pro? The press release also doesn’t mention anything about 5G, so it’s not clear if this will be a 5G-capable OnePlus 7 Pro or a 4G-only version. We’ve reached out to T-Mobile to clarify these points.
As with the OnePlus 6T, the T-Mobile variant of the 7 Pro will likely be different from the unlocked version in that it will come with certain apps pre-installed and receive software updates from the carrier rather than from OnePlus directly.
