Whether you hate the Siri Remote, lost your old one, or are just scouting out the market, these are the best remotes to control your Apple TV.

If you’ve lost or broken your Siri Remote and need a replacement, you can pick one up at Apple. Logitech Harmony 950

If you want a universal remote control that can do absolutely everything and you don’t care about the price, the Logitech Harmony 950 is hands-down the best remote you can get. Although the GE 33709 is a very basic remote, it can still work with four devices at once. It also uses conventional AAA batteries (not included), which means you’ll get months of battery life and you don’t have to worry about another charging cable or station in your home.

For the gamers

SteelSeries Nimbus

While this isn’t just a controller for your Apple TV, it certainly deserves its place on this list for all the Apple TV gamers out there. Gaming on Apple TV is so much more fun with a controller, and the MFi certified SteelSeries Nimbus is one of the best options around. It features pressure-sensitive buttons, and a 40+-hour battery life. It also has handy LEDs that display your status during multiplayer games.

Our recommendations

If you’re ok with the original Siri Remote, then by all means stick with it, but for my money, the Caavo Control Center is the best remote around for the Apple TV. The voice controls are responsive, letting you easily switch back and forth between apps and channels across your Apple TV, cable box, and other entertainment devices (including the smart TV itself).

If you want something that doesn’t require you to hook anything else to your Apple TV, try the Logitech Harmony 950, an excellent universal remote with programmable activities that also lets you quickly switch between devices. The touch screen lets you quickly tap and swipe through your available devices, from your Apple TV to your blu-ray player.
