Realme just hit 10 million users, confirms 64MP quad camera phone this week

Realme is clearly one of the fastest growing smartphone brands around, as the latest market-share reports show the company is now a top-ten global player.

The good news doesn’t end there for the brand though, as Realme has just announced that it’s hit 10 million users since its May 2018 inception.

It’s a rather big figure for what is essentially a new brand, although the firm started out as an Oppo sub-brand. Still, it’s even more impressive when you consider that the company doesn’t actually have a proper flagship phone just yet. Almost all these sales have been driven by budget-minded phones, such as the Realme 3 series.

The firm has also launched an upper mid-range Realme X device, packing a Snapdragon 710 chipset instead of a flagship-level Snapdragon 855 processor.

The company has however confirmed plans to launch a quad-camera smartphone on August 8 in India. This upcoming phone will also offer a 64MP main camera, which should deliver 16MP pixel-binned snaps.

The brand has also hinted at its intention to offer a smartphone with the Snapdragon 855 Plus processor, although it’s unclear whether this is indeed the aforementioned 64MP phone.

Realme’s figure is also a notable achievement due to the brand’s small footprint compared to the likes of Huawei, Samsung, and Xiaomi. The company first launched in India last year before expanding to China and Europe in 2019. The company has also expanded to the likes of Egypt, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, and Vietnam.
