The existence of Google Play Pass was leaked months ago, and we saw more reported details emerge just last month. Now, Google has acknowledged the service and noted that we won’t have too wait too long.
The Mountain View company name-dropped the service on Twitter, noting that it was “coming soon.” Check out the tweet below.

Google Play Pass is set to be subscription service for apps on the Play Store, allowing you to pay a flat monthly fee to gain access to numerous premium games and apps.
According to screenshots obtained by Android Police last month, the service will cost $4.99 a month (although this could merely reflect an early version of the service). The screenshots also show a variety of games supposedly available via the service, including 80 Days, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, Limbo, and Stardew Valley.
It’s also interesting to note that Google is teasing the service’s imminent launch mere hours before Apple’s iPhone event. Apple announced its own game subscription service back in March, dubbed Apple Arcade.
Apple’s service hasn’t launched yet though, but the iPhone 11 event seems like a good time to release it or unveil more details. So it stands to reason that Google might want to steal some of Apple’s thunder by launching its own subscription service around the same time too.
