The best Lenovo phones you can buy (October 2019)

Lenovo K10 Note showing front of the phone

Lenovo is best known for its laptops, but it has a number of great smartphones in its lineup too. In the Western world, Lenovo phones certainly aren’t super popular and are largely unavailable in countries like the US. Don’t let this fool you, Lenovo has excellent phones and quite a following in Asia particularly. One of Lenovo’s key advantages is that their phones are generally cheaper than those with similar specs from companies like Samsung, LG, and Google.

Best Lenovo phones:

Editor’s note: We will be updating this list of the best Lenovo phones regularly as new devices launch.

1. Lenovo Z6 Pro

Lenovo Z6 Pro

This is the best Lenovo phone you can currently get. It offers everything power users need — the Snapdragon 855 chipset, up to 12GB of RAM, and four rear cameras. It also sports a large 4,000mAh battery and comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The display comes in at 6.39-inches and has a notch up top. The phone has a headphone jack on board, which is becoming a thing of the past on flagships. Other specs and features worth mentioning include expandable storage, a 32MP selfie camera, and as much as 512GB of storage.

The Lenovo Z6 Pro is also available in a 5G variant, which allows for faster download speeds, among other things. The phone was not released in the US, but you can get it on AliExpress via the button below.

Lenovo Z6 Pro specs:

  • Display: 6.39-inch, Full HD+
  • SoC: Snapdragon 855
  • RAM: 6/8/12GB
  • Storage: 128/256/512GB
  • Cameras: 48, 16, 8, and 2MP

  • Battery: 4,000mAh

2. Lenovo Z5 Pro GT

Lenovo Z5 Pro GT

The Lenovo Z5 Pro GT is similar to the Z6 Pro in many ways. It sports the same display and is also powered by the Snapdragon 855 chipset. But overall, it offers less when it comes to specs and features.

Editor’s Pick

What makes it stand out from the crowd is its design. It’s a slider phone, which means its selfie cameras are hidden from sight when not in use and pop up on top when you push down the display. This design approach allows for a high screen-to-body ratio without the need for a notch or thick bezels.

The phone was announced in December and ships with Android 8.1 Oreo on board, but it can be updated to Android Pie. It comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner and up to 512GB of storage, but you don’t get wireless charging or an IP rating. There’s also no headphone jack. Regardless, the Z5 Pro GT is definitely one of the best Lenovo phones you can get.

Lenovo Z5 Pro GT specs:

  • Display: 6.39-inch, Full HD+
  • SoC: Snapdragon 855
  • RAM: 8/12GB
  • Storage: 128/512GB
  • Cameras: 24 and 16MP
  • Front camera: 16 and 8MP
  • Battery: 3,350mAh
  • Software: Android 8.1 Oreo

3. Lenovo Z6

Lenovo Z6

This could be described as a toned-down version of the Lenovo Z6 Pro. It shares a few features with its more powerful brother but offers less overall when it comes to specs, which means it’s cheaper.

The display is the same size at 6.39 inches and also offers Full HD+ resolution. But things are different under the hood, as the Lenovo Z6 packs the less powerful Snapdragon 730 chipset and up to 8GB of RAM. The other major difference is in the camera department, with the phone sporting less camera sensor.

Other specs and features of the Lenovo Z6 include an in-display fingerprint scanner, a 4,000mAh battery, and up to 128GB of expandable storage. In terms of design, it looks very similar — but not the same — as the Z6 Pro.

Lenovo Z6 specs:

  • Display: 6.39-inch, Full HD+
  • SoC: Snapdragon 855
  • RAM: 6/8GB
  • Storage: 64/128GB
  • Cameras: 24, 8, and 5MP
  • Front camera: 16MP
  • Battery: 4,000mAh
  • Software: Android 9.0 Pie

4. Lenovo Z5 Pro

This a cheaper version of the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT. There aren’t a lot of differences between the two phones. The biggest one is that you’re getting the Snapdragon 710 chipset under the hood instead of the 855. You’re also getting less RAM.

The Lenovo Z5 Pro is a cheaper version of the Z5 Pro GT.

Other than that, the devices are pretty much the same. That means the Z5 Pro features a 6.39-inch Full HD+ display, comes with two rear cameras, and packs a 3,350mAh battery. It also has a slider design, revealing the two front-facing cameras when you push down the display.

Other specs and features worth mentioning include dual-SIM support, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and up to 128GB of storage. The device was not released in the US, but you can get it from AliExpress via the button below.

Lenovo Z5 Pro specs:

  • Display: 6.39-inch, Full HD+

  • Front cameras: 16 and 8MP
  • Battery: 3,350mAh
  • Software: Android 8.1 Oreo

5. Lenovo Z6 Lite

Lenovo Z6 Lite

The Lenovo Z6 Lite, also known as the Z6 Youth in some markets, is the cheapest and least powerful phone in the Z6 lineup. It still has more than enough power for the average user, packing the Snapdragon 710 chipset under the hood along with up to 6GB of RAM.

There’s a triple-camera setup at the back, which gives you plenty of versatility when taking shots. The display comes in a 6.3-inches and has a notch, and the battery is quite large with its 4,050mAh capacity.

The fingerprint scanner is at the back of the back instead of under the display, like with the other two Lenovo Z6 phones. The design of the phone is simple, which a lot of people will like, but it doesn’t stand out.

Lenovo Z6 Lite specs:

  • Display: 6.3-inch, Full HD+
  • SoC: Snapdragon 710
  • RAM: 4/6GB
  • Storage: 64/128GB
  • Cameras: 16, 8, and 5MP
  • Front camera: 16MP
  • Battery: 4,050mAh
  • Software: Android 9.0 Pie

6. Lenovo S5 Pro GT

Lenovo S5 Pro GT

This Lenovo phone sports a 6.2-inch display with a large notch that houses the two front-facing cameras. It’s a mid-range handset that’s powered by the Snapdragon 660 chipset and comes with as much as 6GB of RAM

Editor’s Pick

The device sports stereo speaker, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, and two rear cameras. It supports expandable storage and can be used with two SIM cards at the same time. There’s also a headphone jack on board.

Like the rest of the Lenovo phones on this list, the S5 Pro GT was not released in Western markets. But it is available at various Chinese online stores including AliExpress — get it via the button below.

K10 Plus

Next up on our list of the best Lenovo phones is the K10 Plus, which falls in the mid-range category. It looks more or less the same as the Lenovo Z6 Lite but comes with weaker internals and a smaller display.

It’s powered by the Snapdragon 632 chipset that’s backed by 4GB of RAM. The display comes in at 6.22 inches and offers Full HD+ resolution. There are three cameras at the back that get the job done, but don’t expect the world from them.

The Lenovo K10 Plus sports a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, has a headphone jack, and supports expandable storage. It was released in India but is not available in Western markets.
