We asked, you told us: You’re really excited for the OnePlus 8 and new iPhones

Google Pixel 4 XL vs OnePlus 7T rear view

There’s a lot to look forward to in 2020 smartphones: better battery life, bigger camera sensors, more telephoto and wide-angle lenses, and even foldable form factors.

Now that we’re starting to hear more about the first phones launching in 2020, we asked you to tell us which smartphone line you’re most excited for in 2020. The results are quite interesting.

What 2020 smartphone are you most looking forward to?

Results

Out of almost 2,000 total votes, 15.9% of Android Authority readers are most excited for the OnePlus 8, 8T, and Pro this year. A close second goes to the Google Pixel 4a and 4a XL. The Galaxy S11 lineup comes in third, with Apple’s 2020 iPhones taking the fourth place spot. After the Pixel 5 with 11.7% of the votes, things drop off quite a bit.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 11 and Note 11 Plus come in sixth with a measly 7.7% of the votes, and seventh place goes to the Xiaomi Mi 10 with 3.8%.

Noteworthy comments

Here are some of the best comments from last week’s poll explaining why they voted the way that they did:

  • Asus ROG 3, Asus ZenFone 7, Xiaomi mi10T pro
  • Poco F2
  • Surface Duo!
  • I’d like to see what Samsung does with their low and mid-range phones next year. I’d like to see them bring NFC to the A20 and A30 lines.
  • The Mi A4. The Mi A2 was pretty good but it lacked a headphone jack (you could get the lite version but it had the same specs as the A1). The Mi A3 was pretty good but it only had a 720p panel. Here’s hoping that the third time is the charm, as they say.

That’s it for this week. As always, thanks for voting, thanks for the comments, and don’t forget to let us know what you thought of the results below!
